So I decided to play DreadOut, following my Uncanny Valley adventure. I started today, and OMG it’s terrifying! I genuinely had to debate whether I could continue playing, but for the time being I have decided to soldier on! (we’ll see how long that lasts…)
I have also taken the time to unpack and try to arrange some of my cosplay materials and tools. I think I finally found all my fabrics and most of my tools. However I realized that my sewing machine didn’t make the move intact. For starters I can’t find it’s power cable, and second the piece that holds the spool broke off…so…yeah. Can’t really use a sewing machine without the spool. I also have to go check back into the boxes to find my fabric chalk. I have now ordered a new sewing machine and just have to wait for it to get here. On the upside it’s a slight upgrade from my last one, so this should be fun!
In the meantime today I found my jewelry making supplies, and found that at some point I had started a necklace that I had never gotten around to finishing. I realized that I had some new pieces that would fit well with the design, so I decided to finish it.
Originally I only had the leaf pieces and the small round beads. Later down the line I had bought the large piece, originally intended to be a brooch for a cloak I made. It ended up not being necessary for the cloak. When I opened up the case with the partially put together necklace and then saw that piece, I thought it would finish it quite nicely.
As for my cosplay ventures, I’m going to continue working on my Inquisitor cosplay. I had already started on it, still working on finding all the fabric I need, but I have enough to keep working on the vest and the pants. I’m not trying to do the default marketing inquisitor but rather one of the other Rogue armors.
It’s been a huge help that they added the wardrobe options to Skyhold, as it’s helped me get a better view of the vest and the pants, making it easier to make the pattern.
I don’t currently have a timeline for when I plan on being done with this project, it will really depend on when I find all the fabric I want/need for this. Unfortunately I don’t live anywhere with a huge fashion district, but maybe I’ll take a weekend trip to New York at some point.
In the meantime I’ll keep playing video games and working with what I have!
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, I’m always happy to hear them!
