World of Warcraft: Broken Shore Scenario and Legion Invasions

So the invasions have started and the Broken Shore scenario has now been live for over a week. I first did it with one of my Horde characters, then I subsequently did it again this time with an Alliance character. I really love how everything was setup, I love the collaboration of the Horde and Alliance (I mean finally!), but…

For those that haven’t played it, beware of SPOILERS! You have been warned!

New Video Series: Couples Therapy!

We started a new video series this week and the first video is up! My husband has decided to join me in my YouTubing adventures! The series will focus on multiplayer co-op games primarily and whatever random thoughts come into our heads. Check out the first episode:

Let us know what you think! We’re also always open to suggestions on other games to play.

Cosplay Progress

So I finally started making some progress on my Rogue Inquisitor cosplay. Mainly I determined that the pattern for the vest wasn’t going to work and I’m scrapping that for now…

But I suppose that’s all part of it, right? Trial and error? Luckily I wasn’t confident enough in the pattern, to begin with, so I didn’t use the only (perfectly colored) leather I had for the vest. Instead, I used some leftover vinyl to test it. While I figure out what to do with it, I’m going to start working on the coat. For which I am happy to report I finally found the fabric I wanted. I already have a pattern that I think will be a good starting point.

DA:I and Trespasser

First off: Spoilers ahead! Please do not continue reading if you have not finished Trespasser. It’s all spoilers from here on out! You have been warned! 😛

So I finally got around to finishing a full DA:I playthrough, but I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. I find that I’m very conflicted because I didn’t dislike the ending. Overall I thought it ended well and I thought the overall feel of the DLC was great. I loved the conversations I had with all my party members, I absolutely loved that Cullen got himself a Mabari and that we ended up getting married. Personally, I could have used a lot more of this throughout the DLCs and the main game.

That being said, I do have some issues with the overall story of the DLC and where it leads. For starters, why is Teagan such an ass? What happened in the last 12 years that suddenly turned him into an angry old man? I just didn’t feel like I was talking to Teagan at all. My second issue is why is Teagan there instead of Alistair at all. I just don’t see a compelling reason for doing this. Alistair has already had dealings with the Inquisition, in my case mostly favorable. I helped him flush out Venatori from the castle and then I helped him with his treaty negotiations with Orlais. All of which he appeared grateful for. So why is it that suddenly Ferelden is afraid of the Inquisition and asking for it to be disbanded. Is this really all because we took over Caer Bronach in Crestwood? Which, as my Inquisitor took the time to point out, was previously occupied by bandits. It’s not like I forcibly took it over from Fereldan soldiers. Something just feels somewhat disjointed here, like I missed part of the story.

As for the Orlesians, well….they’re Orlesian. It’s all part of the game. I do, however, resent the fact that Celene owes me her crown and she can’t be bothered to show up to the council. I could have let her die, but instead, she owes her continued rule to the Inquisition yet is allowing this council to continue. Though in her case, it could be argued that knowing that she owes the Inquisition it’s only obvious that eventually she’d want control of it. Otherwise, there will always be a looming power over her and no good monarch or politician would really want this.

Moving, recording, streaming, etc.

So I may have mentioned this before, but we just bought a house. That means it’s time to start packing again. This time, though, it doesn’t need to be anywhere near as thorough as it was the last time. After all, we’re not moving across the country, but rather only about 20 minutes away.

This does, however, mean that I am finding myself with less time and resources to record YouTube videos. Which is why I have chosen to do an increasing amount of live streams on Twitch over pre-recorded videos. The live streams require less (rather no) post-editing. The one thing I’m currently not able to do on Twitch even is commit to a set schedule. Between the packing and other things that need to be taken care of I’m not really able to always be available at the same day/time. I’m hoping that once we move and get settled I’ll be better able to refine my posting and streaming schedule. In the meantime, I ask that you bear with me. I will always try to post on Twitter and Facebook once I find out if I’ll have time to stream that day.

Currently, I find myself trying to decide what to play next. I somewhat took a break to finally finish the DA:I playthrough I started late last year. I did finally finish the game yesterday, all the way through Trespasser. After finishing the game I felt…odd for the rest of the day, but that will be the subject of a different post. Once I figure out what has me feeling this way and can put it into words. I’ve also started working on the clips from the Mass Effect playthrough I completed recently. I have all the videos I recorded for all 3 games, just have to work on the editing. Which happens to be a lot of editing at an average of 50-70 hours per game. So hopefully, I should be able to start getting those videos up soon.

Now it’s time for me to go pack some more. I’ve only got a couple of weeks left to do it all!
